As we approach the holiday season, it’s important to pause and reflect on the year we’ve shared. In the hustle of everyday work, especially in healthcare, it’s easy to get swept away by the constant need to be there for others, sometimes at the expense of taking care of ourselves. The holidays, however, remind us of something profound: the importance of gratitude.

Gratitude isn’t just a nice sentiment; it’s a powerful tool. It helps us to find meaning in the challenges we face and to celebrate the victories, no matter how small. As caregivers, you pour your energy, compassion, and expertise into the lives of your patients. The weight you carry is significant, but so too is the positive impact you have on each individual in your care. Every kind word, every smile, every extra moment you spend comforting someone makes a difference. For that, we are deeply grateful.

This season, let’s take a moment to express our thanks to one another. We are more than a team – we are a family of professionals, united by a shared mission to bring healing and hope. While the world celebrates the holidays, many of you will continue to work tirelessly, sacrificing time with your own loved ones. I want to personally thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your commitment to your patients.

Let’s also take time to practice gratitude in our personal lives. Whether it’s a moment of quiet reflection, spending time with family, or simply offering a heartfelt “thank you” to a colleague, these small acts can recharge us and help us continue to give the best of ourselves.

To our nurses: you are the backbone of your care team. This holiday season, I want you to know how much you are appreciated—not just by me, but by every patient and family who has been touched by your care. Let’s carry that spirit of gratitude with us into the new year, knowing that together, we are making a difference.

Wishing you all a season filled with peace, warmth, and a deep sense of gratitude.

With sincere thanks,
